In the cobblestone streets of Trastevere in ancient Rome, one song keeps going through my head: Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece. With my iPod blasting this one in my ears, I wandered the narrow alleys between piazzas and bars, between ancient cathedrals and art galleries. What a place to let your mind take a walk . . . what a place to consider who you are and could have been . . . .

A brief on-the-road Dreadful Snake Radio. I will update this post soon with how to buy this music and more pics on the DSBlog . . . Please drop a vote for DSR at Podcast Alley: Vote Here Being high on the list means more folks will wander in and listen. Thanks to all.

Very nice - great tune! I like Tim O'Brien's other alteration of the lyrics; he sings "paved with rubble" rather than "filled with rubble". A rebuilding from the ashes kind of deal, instead of rock-strewn streets. But Snake Guy, you can tell us, are the streets really "filled with rubble"?

Actually, they are paved with cigarette butts. Much of Rome is cobblestone streets and since virtually everyone smokes, the butts are everywhere and especially between the cobblestones where the street sweepers can't get them. Also there are many many neighborhoods where the lower 6 feet of all these beautiful buildings are totally graffiti. Certainly that was the case in Trastevere where I rented an apartment for the week. But what a great cool place anyway! Will try to post pics soon in the DSBlog....had some great sunny days for good pix.

Ah, the wanderings of the Snake ... Tim is going to be here doing a house concert, btw, at one of our T-Ride buddy's homes ... so if you're wandering this way on May 20 & 21 (which I doubt), I'll see you there!
